A few years ago i visited the island Stora Karlsö that is largest bird mountain in the Balticsea. The island Stora Karlsö is one of the oldes nature reserves in the world, actually only Yellowstone is older. On the island 6500 pair of common guilemots nest on the island. I can strongly recommend a visit to this beautiful island. On the picture below you can see a few common guilemots sitting on the rocky mountain wall.

Below you can see a picture taken from the beach. In the evening the father of the young common guliemots are calling out to their chicks to jump from the nests on the mountain wall. The father want the chick to join them in the water. The young chicks can't fly yet so they live on the water together with their father and spends the winter in the southern parts of the Baltic sea.
