Last night I took a deep dive in the archives and found some pictures from last year when I visited Bass Rock outside of Edinburgh, Scotland, to photograph the wonderful northern gannets. These birds are truly beautiful with their orange/yellowish coloured head and blue ring around the eyes.

Before they take off from the rock or when they land, they have a ritual where they look up in the sky with their beaks and nods towards each other. You can see some of this ritual on the pictures below.
